Sunset & Full Moon Paddle – August 11th Lake Terramuggus!
Yes!! Another Sunset & Full Moon Paddle!
Oh Yeah! The Sturgeon Moon August 11th rounds out this year’s parade of four supermoons, which started in May! Supermoons are commonly defined as full Moons that occur while the Moon is at its nearest point to Earth. (Because its orbit is not a perfect circle, the Moon’s distance from Earth changes throughout the month.) Supermoons are every-so-slightly closer to Earth than the average full Moon, which technically makes them a smidge larger and brighter from our perspective. Full refund if the weather doesn’t cooperate so no excuses! This is an amazing time to be on the water experiencing a peaceful sunset in the northwest as the moon rises over the southeast!! Thursday the 11th is the 100% full moon and will rise about 8:15pm so we may be nearing the return of our paddle on the shoreline when we see her poke her head above the horizon! Join us for this magical and unforgettable experience! Don’t worry about it getting dark, we’ve timed this paddle perfectly to catch the sunset, moon-rise and have ambient light to return to the shore safely!
This event Includes paddle board or kayak, life jacket and paddle. We start with an orientation to paddling for beginners and hit the water as a group finding the perfect spot to enjoy nature’s show!
This event is weather permitting and you must be able to swim and be comfortable in the water! Bring a towel and extra warm clothes if you get wet.
